Three Part System
Our system consists of three subsystems: Node, Gateway, and Dashboard. Users can access information from their vineyard directly from their dashboard and can send commands to turn water valves on for a given time. Additionally, weather and humidity are shown regionally.
The Dashboard subsystem will show the water pressure status at each submain corresponding to a particular Node. In addition the water solenoid valve can be activated/deactivated for a specified duration remotely from the Dashboard.
The Gateway subsystem will act as the middle man between the Node and Dashboard. Information received from the Node will be collected and then transmitted to the Dashboard for viewing. Similarly information received from the Dashboard will be transmitted to the corresponding Node(s).
The Node subsystem will collect and transmit information such as if water pressure is detected in the submain, current battery status and whether the water valve needs to be turned on based on what is received from the Gateway.

Our system consists of a Node, Gateway and a Dashboard. Wireless communication methods are used to sent and receive data between these subsystems. Blocks that are grayed are supplied outside of our system and are not included.

Hardware Block Diagram
Our cutting-edge Node features an array of integrated components, including the RAK 3172 microcontroller, relay, 5V and 3.3V outputs, solar charge controller, and solar panel. Meanwhile, our Gateway boasts the powerful RAK 2287 Concentrator Module, seamlessly integrated with a Raspberry Pi 4 for enhanced functionality. To complement these hardware advancements, we've developed a user-friendly Dashboard using TagoIO's comprehensive IoT service. Here, users can effortlessly perform actions and access real-time data streams with ease.
Furthermore, our innovative wireless connectivity utilizes LoRaWAN technology operating at 915 MHz, ensuring robust and reliable communication between the Node and Gateway. Moreover, the Gateway's connection to the Dashboard can be established via multiple options, including LTE, WiFi, or Ethernet, providing flexibility and adaptability to suit diverse network environments.
